Key Resources for Aspiring Solicitors

There are so many different resources out there for Aspiring Solicitors at the moment. It certainly was not as saturated when I was in the process compared to how it’s like now.

This has its positives and negatives - the positives being that there are so many places to gain information in a career that is already so competitive. The negatives being that it can be overwhelming - like where the hell do I start?!

Here are my favourite resources that are available for aspiring solicitors at the moment. I have organised it in terms of category, depending on what you’re looking for. I hope you find this useful!

1) Useful Websites

  • LawCareers.Net - I used this site religiously when I was in the process to keep updated on key deadlines, find out information about the firm and use the LCN Locker. Check out my video where I explain what the LCN Locker is.

  • The Corporate Law Academy (check out their membership opportunities, courses, the forum and also their 175 interview questions bank)

  • Commercial Law Academy (courses include advice on writing applications, preparing for interviews and commercial awareness)

  • Check out my video on how I researched Law Firms - in the video description, there are many sources I listed to use when finding out more information about different firms.

  • The Tazil Foundation (a charity aimed at inspiring and helping people from low socio-economic backgrounds)

  • Avvoka (a legal tech company that also takes the time to educate individuals on things like document automation). Check out their Ultimate Guide on Document Automation here.

  • Mindfull Learning (an educational support company that provides bespoke products and services to individuals that are attracted to city careers like commercial law, banking and consulting. Use ‘SIMS35’ for 35% off their e-guides and ‘SIMS15’ for 15% off their 1-1 services, like interview prep)

2 — Youtube Channels

YouTube has a special place in my heart, it helped me so much when I was in the process. I cannot recommend it enough.

3 — Commercial Awareness Sources
